VEQ: Vehicle Equivalent– T7, 3+, infinite wounds, 10 points per wound HIEQ: Heavy Intercessor Equivalent– T5, 3+, 3W, 35 points per model PEQ: Primaris Equivalent– T4, 3+, 2W, 20 points per model GEQ: Guardsmen Equivalent– T3, 5+, 5.5 points per model Damage is calculated where each tank is shooting twice (moved under half), random number of shots can be rerolled (Catachan or Gunnery Experts), and Tank Commanders order themselves to reroll ones. To compute efficiencies, I’ve lined up a series of targets to represent a myriad of units found in the game. With the January Field Manual just released, I thought I would take a look at Russes to see if there were any overlooked options.
If that wasn’t enough there’s also the choice of running a Russ as a Tank Commander or standard battle tank.
As the mainstay of the Astra Militarum with 7 turret options, 3 hull options, and 4 sponson options, figuring out how to outfit a Russ for battle can be a daunting proposition for even an experienced Guard commander.
